Mundo do tênis (Tennis World)

I'll summarize what happened in those first months. In WTA, Azarenka managed to defend her Australian Open title, beating Li Na in the final. Azarenka also won the tournament in Doha, beating American Serena Williams (the bravest and the strongest tennis player, difficult to win). Petra Kvitova won the tournament in Dubai (there were many times she did not won anything). Maria Sharapova won the Indian Wells tournament, easily defeating Caroline Wozniacki (who finally woke up because since she started dating the world's No. 1 golfer, Rory McIlroy, she didn't win anything). Serena Williams defeated Maria Sharapova tournament in Miami today, 4-6 6-3 6-0. For the first time in years, Sharapova was playing very well, but "were dead" on 3rd set. The good side of this is that Maria knows that Serena can win, because both are the best of tennis today, and they are that played best in 2012, and Serena is the number 1 ranking as Sharapova is 2.
PS: Jelena Jankovic also woke up. She played very well and managed to reach the semifinals of the tournament, losing to Maria Sharapova.
In ATP, Djokovic won the first Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open, defeating Murray in the final. The Spaniard balloonist, Nadal, returned to play (to our delightness, #not). He won the M1000 of Indian Wells, in California (USA), winning even with pain and a very dejected Del Potro (mentally). Earlier, Del Potro was fine, but then everything collapsed. He "gave" the match to Nadal, who is very tough and he does not give up easy (I'm like this lol). Roger Federer, world number 2 and the best player of all time for now (hopefully for a long time, as federette hahaha), had injured his back and could not play so well against Nadal in the quarter-finals. The world No. 1, Novak Djokovic, lost to Del Potro. In the M1000 in Miami, Spaniard David Ferrer and British Andy Murray are in the final (I'm rooting for murray, for tenistic, fanatic and strategic reasons [ATP Fantasy], I hope he wins). The final is tomorrow, on the channel SporTV2 at 12:30 pm.

Sobre o Miss Universo'12 (About Miss Universe'12)
Gabriela Markus, Rio Grande do Sul's contestant, won Miss Brazil. She was not the prettiest, or the most friendly. However, with a great reputation of our country, she got 5th place on Miss Universe (don't ask me how). American Olivia Culpo won Miss Universe. She's pretty, but doesn't have bearing or height of a Miss (in some countries, as Australia, only girls with 172 cm or 5'8'' can be contestants). I thought it was cool that she won, because it showed that not just tall women are beautiful, but the short ones are too(Olivia's height is 165cm or 5'5''). However, she might have won the pageant because of her being American, since years USA don't win it. In my opinion, Miss Venezuela, Irene Esser, should have won. She had bearing, beauty sympathy and attitude of a Miss. But she only gor 3rd place.
